The 3rd edition of the Tusnad EcoBear Conference will take place on October 22 and 23, 2025, at Hotel O3zone in Băile Tușnad, Romania. This year’s conference focuses on human-large carnivore coexistence, bringing together a diverse array of experts from across Europe and beyond to discuss practical solutions for reducing human-wildlife conflicts in human-dominated landscapes.
Supported by Nature FIRST and hosted by the Project Bag Association and WWF Romania, in collaboration with the Mayor's Office of Băile Tușnad as part of the CERV project (101146879) "Coexisting with bears - Conservation needs Conversation!", the conference seeks to unite a diverse group of international experts to discuss and develop viable strategies for reducing human-wildlife conflicts. Participants will delve into the current state of brown bear management across Europe, sharing both best practices and lessons learned.
Sessions will include:
developing bear-smart communities
managing human-large carnivore conflicts
integrating AI in conflict reduction
fostering ecological connectivity
knowledge sharing on bear-smart business plans.

Presenters must register by 20 September 2024, while press and audience members should register by 20 October 2024. The registration fee is 5 euro/25 ron per day, though this fee is waived for presenters.
