The EC-ESA JOINT EARTH SYSTEM SCIENCE INITIATIVE Workshop on “Science for a Green and Sustainable Society” was held from November 22 to November 24 in Frascati, Italy. The workshop brought together 250 professionals from the European Space Agency, the European Commission, and various science and ESA + EC projects.
Led by Linda van Duivenbode from dotSPACE, Nature FIRST was featured in the biodiversity track on 23 November. The project, emphasizing Forensic Intelligence and Remote Sensing Technologies for Nature Conservation, captivated the audience with its innovative approach to leveraging Earth Observation systems and digital technologies.
The workshop, marked by plenary sessions and topical workshops, provided a unique platform to discuss global and European biodiversity policies, initiatives, and the integration of science and policy. Linda's presentation showcased the project's impact and contribution to the overarching goal of advancing Earth Observations and Earth System Science for a sustainable future.
